Hampstead Garden Suburbs

The detached house, built in 1924, is part of the Hampstead garden suburb, described as "the most nearly perfect example of that English invention and speciality, the garden suburb".

The area is managed by the Trust, which ensures that the architectural standards of the Suburb"s founders are maintained, preserving its character and amenities.

Due to the restricted rules of the conservation area, the project consist of the conversion of the garage into habitable space, including a small rear extension, and a loft conversion. The aim of the design is to enlarge the footprint whilst maintaining the integrity of the character externally and internally, yet accommodating open plan living areas.
